When will my child receive their box?

Boxes will be mailed at least weekly beginning July 15, 2020.

Do I need to supervise my child with the box?

All activities we are sending would be supervised in the camp setting, and we strongly encourage you to supervise your child as they carry out the activities contained in the boxes. Why? Absolutely! What a great gift idea indeed. There will be a gift message option when you check out.

How is this program possible?

As you know, we are closed for Summer 2020. We provided families with the option to receive a full refund, donate, or defer their camp fees to summer 2021. While this was financially devastating for us; it was the right thing to do. We believe in the power of camp and know how much our campers look forward to it each year; we do too! We wanted to get some of our programming and camp culture out to families in a new and creative way given the circumstances of Covid-19. Hence, Camp in a Box was born. Much like our camping program, we wanted Camp in a Box to be affordable and accessible to those in our community who need it most. This program entailed a number of expenses, that quite frankly we would not have been able to cover without the generosity of others.

Thanks to the Paycheck Protection Program and the flexibility of our staff this summer we are able to keep a few people on to help carry out this programming. In addition, a huge thank you goes out to the Community Foundation for South Central New York. Their gracious support of the program allowed us to set up the online store and covers some supplies as well as ALL of the shipping costs associated with the project. We couldn't have done it without them. Delaware County Youth Services is another wonderful partner who is generously providing the opportunity for scholarships to local Delaware County Youth. Thank you to everyone for there support and for making this program possible! We appreciate you.
