June 13 2021 Update:
Invoices all went out by June 1 (except for recent registrations). Payments and Health forms are due by June 15th unless communication is maintained with the Camp Director at email@example.com. If you need to cancel, please let us know because there are still youth on a waiting list who would like to attend if the opportunity arises with adequate time to prepare. Pre-arrival testing reminders were sent out to submit your form and/or book an appointment. This requirement is for overnight campers only. Information regarding pick-up & drop off are coming soon, as are updates for the Covid FAQ page & family Handbook. The packing list and many other questions can be answered by visiting "About, Fundamentals." Thank you all for your continued patience and to those who have submitted everything on time.
May 27 2021 Update:
We are actively building invoices this week beginning with week 1, then 2, then 3, etc. to confirm your child's place and collect payment. Please check your spam folder and add firstname.lastname@example.org to your contact list to be sure you see it when it comes through. Invoices will come separate for each child and by week, not all together. If you applied for a late campership, but haven't received an answer on the status of your application, please check with Corrine (email@example.com) before submitting payment.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate everyone on the wait list, but as invoices go out, some folks have made other plans and communicating that with us, so we will continue to monitor the availability and call you in from a wait list with as much notice as we can provide where possible. Corrine will email you if your child remains on the wait list to let you know. Thank you for your continued patience.
May 20, 2021 Update:
We are excited to report that NYS released their guidance for camps yesterday afternoon! We are in the process of reviewing those guidelines, seeking clarification from our local DOH where needed, and adapting as appropriate. We were made aware of a glitch in our invoicing system last week which has now been corrected. We hope to send invoices mid-week next week.

April 14, 2021 Availability Update
The outpouring of reservations for Camp 2021 has been overwhelming in the most positive way. Thank you all for your continued support and the trust you've placed in us to safely offer programming this summer. We are optimistic that we will be able to increase from 50% to 75% capacity and have opened a few more slots in each week. Registrations will be honored in the order in which they were received. We are still waiting for official guidance and regulations to clarify the capacity within which will be able to operate this summer. Everything remains subject to change based on those guidelines.
We are confident we can run a safe, fun, and wonderful camp this year. If you don't feel comfortable attending this year, we understand and wish your family a healthy and happy 2021. We will look forward to welcoming you back when you are ready.

Dear Camp Families,
With the approach of summer 2021, we wanted to send out a quick note to let our valued camp families know that we are excited and planning for a safe, healthy, and fun summer camp experience in 2021 for our campers, families, and staff! While the situation continues to evolve, we are making plans based on the general guidance that we have received from the American Camp Association, the New York State 4-H Program, and the experiences of the hundreds of camps that did operate in 2020.
To ensure we are running the safest program possible, there will be some changes at camp this year. Changes to our registration process, camper check-in, daily schedules, class choices, cabin groups, health and sanitation and more. But you know what isn’t going to change? The opportunity for campers and staff to build a healthy, thriving community at camp. Campers are still going to have great experiences, make new friends, try new things, and gain the independence that comes from a week away from their families. These experiences are the cornerstone of what 4-H Camp Shankitunk is all about.
We know you have questions, and many of those questions revolve around what we are doing this year to protect your child/children. Some examples of the steps we are taking this year to enhance the health and safety of our campers and staff in 2021 can be found on our Covid-19 FAQ page
We hope that you will consider joining the fun in 2021! We are aiming to be able to open registration for our programs mid-February. If you know anyone who is interested in working at camp, we are hiring! Please know that due to the evolving scenario with the COVID-19 pandemic and the development and distribution of the vaccine, any and all programming is subject to change. As we move closer to camp, if things change, we will be updating our website and will post changes to our Facebook page, so be sure to follow us on those platforms, and/or check your email regularly. Once we are ready to open registration, we will be sending out emails in a phased approach, with first notice going out to campers who registered last year, and moved their registration fees to 2021, along with campers who were awarded Campership support in 2020. About two to three weeks later, we will send a general notice to all, letting people know that registration is open.
